Product Details
Polyacrylamide Xu coagulant is the most commonly used synthetic flocculant. Flocculant Polyacrylamide A homopolymer polymerized from a single acrylamide polymer is non-ionic, and its molecules are not charged. Copolymers made by copolymerization of acrylamide and anionic monomers (such as sodium acrylate) are anionic and their molecules are negatively charged. By the same token, there is a copolymer of acrylamide and cationic monomers, which is cationic and its molecules are positively charged.
Flocculant polyacrylamide copolymer contains a certain amount of ionic monomer, it shows a certain amount of ionic characteristics. We use the percentage of "ionicity" to express how much the polymer molecular chain is charged. The higher the ionicity, the more charged the molecular chain. Thus, the ionicity of the non-ionic polyacrylamide is zero. What is charged and how much is charged on the polyacrylamide molecular chain is an important consideration when choosing a polyacrylamide flocculant.
Polyacrylamide is the highest molecular weight of synthetic polymers. The molecular weight of polyacrylamide is always referred to as the average molecular weight, which represents the average length of each polymer molecule. The higher the molecular weight, the greater the number of links that make up each molecule, or the longer the average length of each molecule. From the perspective of molecular weight, the flocculation of polyacrylamide is not only related to the molecular weight, but also to the molecular structure (branched chain, straight chain, cross-linked) and the distribution of molecular weight (wide, narrow).
